SHS Honored at Asian Banking & Finance Awards 2026, highlighting Its Investment Banking Capabilities
On July 2, 2026, in Singapore, Saigon – Hanoi Securities Joint Stock Company (SHS) was honored with the “Equity Deal of the Year – Vietnam” award at the Asian Banking & Finance – Corporate & Investment Banking Awards 2026. The award recognizes SHS for its outstanding contribution to a landmark equity transaction in Vietnam.
Organized annually since 2006 by Asian Banking & Finance, a leading financial publication under Singapore-based Charlton Media Group, the Asian Banking & Finance Awards is one of Asia’s prominent award programs in banking and financial services. Entries are evaluated by an independent judging panel comprising experts from Big Four audit firms and international consulting companies, based on rigorous criteria including transaction scale and complexity, innovation in deal structuring, capital arranging capabilities, execution quality, and strategic value delivered to businesses and the market.

The Corporate & Investment Banking Awards category recognizes outstanding investment banking transactions and solutions across individual markets, highlighting deals distinguished by execution excellence and sustainable value creation for businesses and capital markets. For SHS, being named “Equity Deal of the Year – Vietnam” not only recognizes the success of a landmark transaction, but also demonstrates the Company’s ability to deliver integrated Investment Banking solutions and underscores the growing importance of this business pillar in its strategy to build a Full-Service Wealth Management ecosystem.
A Landmark Transaction for Vietnam’s Capital Market Development
This year’s award was presented to SHS in recognition of its advisory role in the private placement of Saigon – Hanoi Bank (SHB) — one of Vietnam’s notable equity capital raising transactions in 2026.

The transaction raised approximately VND 3.37 trillion (approximately USD 130 million) and attracted a number of reputable domestic and international institutional investors, including Dragon Capital, Korea Investment Management (KIM), VinaCapital, FPT Capital, PVI Asset Management, and Hanwha Life. The transaction not only contributed to broadening SHB’s shareholder base and strengthening its capital position, but also demonstrated the growing appeal of Vietnamese financial institutions to long-term investment capital.
SHS acted as exclusive corporate financial advisor, supporting SHB throughout the transaction — from deal structuring, capital raising strategy, and valuation to investor targeting, regulatory procedures, engagement with authorities, transaction marketing, and connecting and negotiating with institutional investors.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Linh, CEO and Member of the SHS Board of Directors, the transaction’s success was driven not only by the scale of capital raised, but also by a differentiated execution approach. “Rather than competing primarily on pricing, the transaction focused on attracting high-quality institutional investors who shared SHB’s long-term investment vision. This helped shift the focus from short-term arbitrage opportunities toward long-term strategic investment, demonstrating how a strong corporate foundation, transparent communications, and effective investor relations can reduce reliance on large discounts,” Mr. Linh said.
The transaction also represents a notable evolution in Vietnam’s equity capital markets (ECM), from pricing-led fundraising toward value-led capital raising.
Beyond its scale, the transaction helped establish a new benchmark for private placements in Vietnam’s banking sector by successfully bringing together domestic and international investors and creating a diversified, stable shareholder base with a long-term investment orientation. It also reflects the increasing professionalism of Vietnam’s capital markets and growing institutional investor confidence in well-established financial institutions.
Investment Banking – A Key Pillar in SHS’s Full-Service Wealth Management Strategy
The “Equity Deal of the Year – Vietnam” award recognizes not only the success of a landmark transaction, but also SHS’s continued efforts to build integrated Investment Banking capabilities over the years.
SHS’s Investment Banking business is built around three core areas: Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), and M&A advisory, providing businesses with end-to-end financial solutions across different stages of their development.

In the capital markets, SHS has advised on and executed a number of large-scale capital raising transactions. In 2025, the Company held an 11.12% market share in corporate bond issuance advisory and 10.25% in private placements, representing more than USD 2.1 billion in transaction value, while ranking among the Top 3 in public bond issuance advisory with a 19.7% market share. SHS has also supported major financial institutions including Agribank, HDBank, MSB, SHB, LPBank, and KienlongBank in significant capital raising transactions.
SHS has further expanded its advisory capabilities through a range of notable transactions, including stake transfers involving VNPT, Vinacomin, and Hanoitourist, as well as Viet Ha Business and Investment JSC; capital raising advisory for Taseco Land; a treasury share transaction for MWG; the listing of KienlongBank shares on HOSE; and other landmark transactions.
To complete its service value chain, SHS established the M&A & Restructuring Center in 2025, expanding its capabilities beyond capital raising advisory to corporate restructuring, M&A, and long-term growth solutions.
Unlike traditional advisory models, SHS has developed an integrated Investment Banking model that provides end-to-end advisory solutions, from strategic planning and transaction structuring to capital arranging, investor connectivity, execution, and transaction completion. Each transaction is approached as a comprehensive growth strategy, with advisory capabilities connected through an integrated platform to optimize execution and create long-term value for clients.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Linh: “More importantly, this award reflects SHS’s ability to create long-term value for clients by combining deep understanding of the domestic market with experience in accessing international capital markets.”
As Vietnam’s capital markets continue to play an increasingly important role in mobilizing resources for the economy, the Asian Banking & Finance – Corporate & Investment Banking Awards 2026 not only recognizes SHS’s Investment Banking capabilities, but also reinforces its Full-Service Wealth Management strategy, in which its business pillars are connected within an integrated financial ecosystem to support businesses, investors, and capital markets in their journey toward sustainable growth.
